Instructions

Preheat Oven to 350° Fahrenheit.

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, and both sugars together.

Incorporate eggs one at a time.

Stir in vanilla.

Dissolve baking soda into the hot water, add to the batter along with the salt.

Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and walnuts (if using).

Weigh dough into 3 ounce balls.

Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until the bottoms are brown and the edges and top and set.

Transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool off the cooking pan.
